Core Strategy
The Core Strategy is the principal document in a framework of documents that will guide the Borough in its local development making decisions until 2026. It provides an overall strategy of where development should be located and how we meet the needs of the Borough. It also contains proposals for housing, economy and employment, community facilities, quality of life and accessibility are explained for an individual area and the Borough as a whole.
Issues involving the future of the greenbelt, Parkside, redevelopment of the Town Centre and protecting the Town's green spaces are subject to particular consideration in this document.
The Core Strategy was published for consultation under Regulation 27 in May 2009. At that time a lot of comments were received and it became clear that this issue needed to be addressed further before proceeding to submission of the Core Strategy to the Secretary of State under Regulation 30.
Accordingly a number of Amendments to the Core Strategy have been made and are now available for consultation until 28 April 2010. The whole Core Strategy is not open to comment, only the changes we have made since the Publication version in May 2009.
Comments can be submitted via the online system or on the appropriate form.
